Multi Turn Wave Springs are spirally wound springs that consist of flattened metal wire shaped into waves, with the wave peaks facing the valleys of adjacent turns. They are suitable for applications with moderate strokes and small to medium loads. The springs offer the advantage of saving space, reducing the overall size of equipment, and cost savings, making them ideal for applications where axial space is limited.
Multi Turn Wave Springs come in a wide variety of styles and are used in numerous industries such as machinery manufacturing, petroleum and chemical engineering, hydraulic equipment, automotive and locomotive manufacturing, aerospace industry, refrigeration engineering, and more. Common applications include motors, compressors, fluid valves, water valves, gas valves, automotive clutches, brakes, electrical connectors, bearing preload devices, compensation devices, and shaft seals.
Depending on the material size, shape, number of layers, and waves, Multi Turn Wave Springs can achieve various stiffnesses to meet different compression stroke requirements. Common materials used for these springs include spring steel and stainless steel, with outer diameters typically ranging from 6mm to 300mm and two or more layers. After heat treatment and surface finishing, these springs exhibit excellent elasticity and toughness.
