The spiral retaining ring is a commonly used fastener, typically used to prevent loosening of nuts or bolts on bearings or mechanical parts. In China, the standard for spiral retaining ring is GB/T 94-1985 "Elastic Round retaining ring".
This standard specifies the requirements for the material, shape, size, mechanical properties, surface state, and inspection methods of resilient round lock washers. Specific requirements include the following:
Materials: The spiral retainer ring should be made of elastic materials with sufficient elasticity and corrosion resistance. Common materials include elastic steel, stainless steel, and so on.Shape and size: The outer diameter, inner diameter, thickness, and twist angle of the spiral retaining ring should be within the tolerance range specified by the standard.Mechanical properties: The spiral retaining ring should have sufficient resilience and fatigue life to ensure that it can effectively prevent loosening of the nut or bolt during use.Surface state: The surface of the spiral retaining ring should be smooth and flat, without defects such as cracks, burrs, and oxide layers.
Inspection method: The inspection of the spiral retainer ring should include multiple indicators such as appearance inspection, dimensional inspection, rebound force and distortion angle detection.It should be noted that due to the older GB/T 94-1985 standard, it has been replaced by GB/T 10490-2007 "Elastic Round Lock Washer". Therefore, when using spiral retaining rings, it is recommended to use the new standard.
